Here is Another Love Story…

Before I blog about my mom life experiences I think it would be good idea to let you know just how this story all began. This is not romantic, but it is our story and I love it!

My Little Family

Lets go way back!… When these two nine-teen year old kids locked eyes in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart. LOL!

So we were both working at Wal-Mart and I worked in Housewares department and Richard worked as a cart pusher. I was coming in for my afternoon shift and walking opposite of me is this guy with hair down to his shoulders with his work uniform on. He greets me and I completely ignore him. 🙂

I am not sure why I ignored him. I was shy and by the time I realized he was speaking to me it was too late so I just left it at that. Months passed and we would cross paths but he never said hi again. He later switched to Electronics department which is right across Housewares.

“Surprisingly”, I had a rude customer one night. This lady was yelling at me, I don’t remember why. I don’t remember what the customer said that made me laugh as I walked away. It for sure was an insult of some kind, but I felt someone staring at me. I looked around and there he was laughing at me after I got insulted. LOL!

Now there was another guy that worked Housewares with me. One day he mentions to me that Richard was asking about me. I tried to get details, but couldn’t get much information from him. A few weeks passed and Richard finally came up to me and made small talk.

Our first conversation were about Anime, video games and movies. 🙂 He had a lot in common and it was always fun talking to him. BUT….. I had a boyfriend at the time. So sorry to disappoint but nothing happened.

My relationship at the time was unstable. Constant break ups and altogether toxic.

Richard slowly became one of my best friends, he was always there and always a gentleman. We later realized we went to the same middle school and high school.

Richard met all my friends, was invited to all out parties and gatherings.

A year later I quit my job and Richard left for boot camp. We promised each other we would keep in touch. A few months passed and I had not heard from him. I just happened to be cleaning out my email inbox one day and I found an email from him. It was old but I got sooo happy!

With out thinking it through I called him. Unfortunately he gave his old phone and phone number to his mom so she answered. I left a message with her requesting a call back from Richard when he got a chance. I was not sure how reliable his mom was so I was afraid he would never get the message.

So at this time I’m still with my lame ass ex boyfriend at the time. All my friends know I have feelings for Richard…every one knew except me!

Now this next part always makes me sad…

Richard got my message and text me one day and said he will be visiting family soon. Richard came home for the holidays and invited me out for lunch or dinner. I said yes but we never decided on a time or date. He kept asking when we were going and I never gave a definitive answer. In other words I stood him up. This is a decision I will always regret.

Well it gets better guys!

He got discharged because his asthma was acting up… This was good news, not for him at the time. But definitely for me! 🙂 🙂

We ran in to each other at our community college. We were inseparable like peas and carrots (Forest Gump lol )

This is cheesy AF but, at this time it was like a light switched on. I knew that I loved him and that he is the only one for me.

I was scared to let him know how I felt. I didn’t want to ruin out friendship. I didn’t want to lose my best friend. And HELLO I was still with loser Ex boyfriend!

Long story short I kicked loser’s ass to the curve and decided to go for it.

Richard said he always loved me but didn’t want to ruin our friendship as well. We have been inseparable ever since. Now we have to beautiful babies Helena and Logan. I am so happy I can say that I fell in love with my best friend.

How did you and your significant other meet? I love hearing people’s love stories!

These last couple of weeks have been busy. My maternity leave is now a thing of the past and my baby boy is 3 months old !

A couple of days before my dreamy days with my two babies was over, the four of us went out for lunch at Cravings by 99 Ranch Market in Chino Hills California.

Cravings is Asian supermarket/Food Hall. I was able to try out a small list of items since I was sharing with Richard (my mister).

Our first stop was Wing Man Kitchen. Obviously I had wings. LOL The wings were amazing! I ordered a rice bowl. Wings served over steamed rice, kimchee slaw, cucumber and a fried egg on top. To be honest all you really need to get is those wings!

Stop #2-

Dos Chinos a Latin/Asian fusion restaurant. So many items I wanted to try here. We decided on the Stoner Burrito. It was so good that I did not take a picture. 🙂 So instead I will list all the ingredients this bad boy has. It contains rib eye, carne asada, roast pork belly, chorizo, fried rice, fried egg, cheese sauce, fries, onion, cilantro, avocado crema and salsa verde! All this is wrapped up in a flour tortilla! I didn’t eat much of it because I wanted to save some room for dessert so Richard ate most of it. However it was delicious! No regrets lol

Stop #3

Cauldron Ice Cream- We shared this amazing dessert. We got the churro ice cream wrapped in a warm and sweet puffle cone! There is also a variety of toppings to choose from, ours had oreos. So yummy….I am not big on sweets but this one is a winner! The ice cream is not too sweet and the warm puffle cone is the perfect way to wrap churro ice cream.

Stop #4

Pinky Promise Store- This is a Taiwanese bakery. However I went for some milk tea. First off I LOVE milk tea and I couldn’t resist especially since they come in a super cute teddy bear bottle. I ordered the rose matcha milk tea to go because at this point I was stuffed! It was delicious, it was pretty and super cute. You also have the option of adding boba. If you love matcha like I do then I suggest you give this a try. Now if dont they have so many other flavors you can try.

I only touched a surface of what this food hall has to offer so I will definitely return. Have you ever been to Cravings and if so please send me some suggestions for my next visit. 🙂

Matte Lipsticks (Beauty Creations)

This weekend I finally had a mommy’s night out with my bestie. Yaaay! I used my new lipsticks I picked up early in the week by Beauty Creations. I have never purchased any makeup from this brand but I was pulled in by the beautiful color selection. I picked them up at a local boutique for only $2.99. I checked out Beauty Creations website and they are priced at $4.99.

I purchased colors: Naked, Kiss Me and Berry Much. I combined all three and did a very subtle ombre lip. These lipsticks were surprisingly long-lasting. Considering that you always get what you pay for… This lipstick stayed put after two drinks and an appetizer. I took them with me because I was sure I would need to reapply. No reapplying was needed!

Conclusion: Overall these lipsticks are great, they have many colors to select from and for $2.99…heck yeah! 🙂 or $4.99 on their website. They have blush and eyeshadow palettes that I would like to try next.

Recent Favorites and Fails

Is anyone else guilty of purchasing products based on the packaging? I am super guilty of it! LOL Don’t get me wrong I also rely on other reviews to make my final purchase but sometimes I will buy on impulse just because of the packaging. I recently used these products and thought I should do a quick review. Before I begin just FYI I have combination skin but the cold weather has left my skin dry these last couple weeks. To top it off I started taking my birth control so I’ve been breaking out too. So let me get to the point. 🙂

  1. Bare Minerals Bare Skin Foundation- I used Bareshell 02. This product claims to leave skin seamless. The foundation was lightweight, felt like I had nothing on my face. However, did not leave my skin looking seamless it did the exact opposite for me. I felt like my skin imperfections were highlighted. It also made my skin feel very oily. I purchased this foundation because it was on sale and I should have known better.
  2. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist- This was gifted and I am so grateful for that. The name says it all. This spray gives your skin a beautiful/subtle glow. It has a soft fresh scent and I don’t have anything bad to say about it. I apply before applying my make up and after. Definitely will be purchasing a full-size bottle when I run out.
  3. Holika Holika Lazy and Easy Smooth Egg Peeling Gel- This product was a great disappointment. Not only did it have very good reviews on multiple sites but the packaging is so cute! ( as I mentioned before I am a sucker for cute packaging) It claims to remove dead skin cells and absorb skin impurities. My skin felt exactly the same after multiple uses. 😦

The cup of tea shown on the picture above is my Tazo Vanilla Bean Macaron. I am a macaron freak so when I saw this at my local Target I had to try it. To start off this tea smells amazing and is very decadent. It is such a treat. I definitely recommend you try it!
